Sian is a contemporary artist based in Northeast Victoria. Her love of design and art led her to pursue a career in Architecture. On her retirement she rekindled her passion for drawing and painting, attending art classes and workshops by renowned artists and courses at the local TAFE and travelling overseas with fellow artists on art tours and retreats. These have greatly influenced and enriched her art experiences and work.

“Painting and drawing gives me a lot of enjoyment. I draw my inspirations from my natural environment and experiences: Nature, landscape, still life, buildings and my travels. My art is a response to and an expression and interpretation of these images. I draw and paint with expressive brushstrokes and lines mainly in acrylics, pastels, pens and inks, and working spontaneously and instinctively with layers and splashes of  vibrant colours, shapes, forms and textures in a contemporary and impressionist style. I find it exciting and rewarding creating artworks that evoke emotional responses and trigger personal memories from the viewers”

She has participated and sold in many group exhibitions and art shows locally and in Melbourne and has received various awards and commissions for her work. She is currently represented by Wrenwood Gallery, Bungowannah NSW,  Arcadia Gallery, Beechworth VIC and is a Resident Artist of Art Gallery on Ovens, Wangaratta VIC.

Inspired by her love of painting flowers she created “Bouquets Forever”- a customised bouquet painting as a perfect way to preserve and treasure your bouquets forever in a painting as a memento of your special day.

She now paints almost daily in her home studio, immersing herself in her creative world, constantly learning, experimenting and creating on her artistic journey.
